Budgets & Control
How do I get alerted by email or Slack when AI spend spikes?
Budget-threshold and anomaly alerts by email (every plan) and Slack (Base plan and above): what is sent, to whom, defaults, quiet hours and the hourly cap.
Alerts go to two channels. Configure both in Settings → Alerts.
| Alert | Email (every plan) | Slack (Base+) |
|---|---|---|
| Budget thresholds: each threshold a budget crosses (50%, 80%, 100% by default), once per budget per month, plus a note when a budget with an expiry date expires | On by default | On once connected |
| Anomalies & security: spend and call-frequency anomalies, rejection-rate spikes, velocity-limit trips, compromise-risk signals, shadow-spend gaps | Off by default | On once connected |
| Executive anomaly summaries | Not sent by email (it would repeat the anomaly email) | Off by default |
| Scheduled report delivered | Not sent (the report itself is emailed) | On once connected |
- Open Settings → Alerts. By default alert emails go to the account owner.
- Add up to 10 recipients (a shared inbox such as
finops@yourcompany.comworks well), or keep the owner default. - Choose Budget thresholds and/or Anomalies & security.
- Click Send test email.
Each recipient gets their own copy with a one-click Unsubscribe link for that address. At most 20 alert emails are sent per account per rolling hour; extra alerts in that hour are skipped and listed as capped under Recently sent.
Slack
Connect a channel with an incoming webhook: see Slack alerts. Quiet hours in the Slack panel pause Slack posts during a daily window; they do not affect email. Security and spend-velocity alerts ignore quiet hours on purpose.
